When Should You Have a Birth Debrief?

A birth debrief can be helpful at any stage, whether your birth was:
Recent – If your experience is fresh in your mind and you need support processing it.
Months or years ago – If you still have lingering thoughts, emotions, or unanswered questions.
Before another pregnancy – If you want to understand and process your previous birth to help you feel more prepared.
After baby loss – If you have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss, a birth debrief offers a safe space to reflect, grieve, and receive compassionate support.

There is no right or wrong time for a birth debrief. If you feel that reflecting on your birth could help you find clarity, peace, or reassurance, it’s never too late to have one.

Where Can You Expect to Feel After Therapy?

Lighter & More at Peace – Many people describe feeling a weight lifted off their shoulders.
Less Anxiety & Overwhelm – The strong emotional charge attached to your experience will ease, reducing distressing symptoms.
More in Control – You’ll have practical tools to manage emotions, anxiety, and triggers.

Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone. Take the first step today.

When Can You Have Birth Trauma Resolution Therapy?

Birth Trauma Resolution Therapy (BTR) can be effective at any stage after experiencing birth trauma or perinatal loss. Whether your experience was days, months, or even years ago, BTR can help you process and heal.

🔹6 weeks Post-Birth – If you’ve recently given birth and are struggling with distressing memories, anxiety, or intrusive thoughts, therapy can help you process your experience early and prevent long-term emotional distress.

🔹 Weeks or Months Later – If your birth experience is affecting your mental health, relationships, or ability to bond with your baby, therapy can support you in reducing anxiety, flashbacks, and overwhelm.

🔹 Years After Birth – It’s never too late to heal. Many people seek therapy long after their birth experience, especially when preparing for another pregnancy or struggling with unresolved trauma.

🔹 During Pregnancy – If you’re pregnant again and feeling anxious due to a past traumatic birth, therapy can help you reframe your experience, reduce fear, and approach birth with greater confidence and calmness.

🔹 Following Baby Loss or Fertility Challenges – BTR is also effective for those who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or fertility-related trauma, helping you process grief and move forward with support.

The right time is whenever you feel ready to take a step towards healing. If you’re unsure, we can have a chat to explore how therapy might help you at this stage.
