About us
Beyond the Bump UK CIC supports families through pregnancy and early parenthood. We create welcoming spaces where parents can meet others, ask questions and feel supported without judgement.
Our volunteers help make these spaces possible. Whether you are greeting someone at their first session, walking alongside a new parent or organising donated baby essentials, your contribution can help families feel more connected to their community.
About the role
We are looking for friendly, reliable people who enjoy connecting with others and want to support local families.
You do not need to be a pregnancy or postnatal practitioner. Your role is to welcome, listen, encourage connection and help activities run smoothly. Our trained team will support you with guidance and any concerns that need more specialist input.
You can express an interest in one or several activities. You do not need to volunteer across every location or take part in everything we offer.

What we are looking for
We would love to hear from you if you:
-
Are warm, approachable and able to listen without judgement.
-
Respect different families, cultures, identities, feeding choices and parenting experiences.
-
Can offer approximately two sessions per month where possible.
-
Communicate clearly about your availability and let us know promptly if plans change.
-
Are willing to follow our safeguarding, confidentiality and safety guidance.
-
Understand when to ask for help and refer a concern to the team.
-
Can get to your agreed local sessions.
Experience of parenting, community activities or supporting families is welcome, but you do not need to be a parent or have formal qualifications.
Volunteer intakes and commitment
We welcome new volunteers through two intakes each year. As part of your intake, you will be invited to a welcome morning to meet the team and other volunteers, learn about our activities, and receive induction, guidance and relevant training.
We ask volunteers to commit to an initial six-month period, ideally supporting two sessions per month where possible, or an agreed pattern of support for our WhatsApp community. This helps us plan activities and build familiar, consistent support for families.
We understand that circumstances can change. If your availability changes or you need to step back, please let us know as early as possible.
At the end of six months, we will check in together and discuss whether you would like to continue, change your activities or take a break.
Boundaries and safe practice
Volunteers offer companionship and practical support. They do not provide medical advice, specialist feeding advice, therapy or childcare as part of this role.
You will follow our guidance on confidentiality, appropriate boundaries and responding to concerns. Any safeguarding concern must be shared promptly with the designated Beyond the Bump lead.
Independent session leadership will only be agreed once you have completed the relevant induction and the team is confident you are ready.
What we offer
-
A welcome session and induction into Beyond the Bump.
-
Guidance relevant to your chosen activities, including safeguarding and role boundaries.
-
An agreed point of contact and ongoing opportunities to ask questions.
-
A chance to meet others, develop experience and contribute to your local community.
-
Flexibility to agree a volunteering pattern that works around your other commitments.
How to get involved
Please contact us at info@beyondthebumpuk.co.uk with:
-
Your preferred location (Warwick / Leamington Spa / Kenilworth / Rugby / Stratford-Upon-Avon)
-
The activities you would like to support.
-
Your usual availability.
-
A little about yourself and why you would like to volunteer.
We will arrange an informal conversation to explore a suitable role. References and appropriate safeguarding checks may be requested depending on the responsibilities.
Please let us know if you need adjustments or an alternative way to express your interest. We want volunteering with us to be welcoming and accessible.
